The songs are simple easy to learn lyrics in English and some songs have both English and Sanskrit (an ancient language of India & past spiritual masters.) The songs are devotional and heart-felt, ecumenical (no specific religion), singing of love, joy, faith, Spirit, and to help us remember who we really are in our essence! People love the events and experience greater love, joy, peace and connection to their hearts and Spirit. (Note: Wendy wants all to feel welcome and for any songs with 'God' in the title she will offer alternatives like 'Spirit', 'good' or 'love'...)
Wendy LOVES leading and participating in singing events in Santa Barbara, CA. She offers sacred singing as well as community singing and calls it "heart & soul" singing. For Sacred Singing, she plays her beloved harmonium and the group sings together (sometimes called mantras or 'bashans'). 🙏🏼💜🎶💫
And all are welcome - it's not 'how you sing', but ideally that you sing from your heart. 💜 For example, Wendy’s creativity motto is: “Joyful expression, NOT perfection!” When Wendy started sacred singing over 25 years ago she had no singing training, was very shy, and had a very average voice... (In her childhood she had asthma and definitely didn't sing well!) In her choice to sing songs of love, joy and devotion, she experienced great healing in her body and mind, and much joy in her heart. She now gets many compliments on her singing, voice, joy and confidence and loves to use herself as a great example of what is possible when you sing and follow your heart and joy!
